Medal Monday in New York: The Finisher Perks Run All Week — Free Museum Days, Engraving and a Burger
The medal is the souvenir, but it is also a ticket. Show it at the American Museum of Natural History through November 8 and admission is free; Monday brings engraving lines, a finish-time photo, recovery zones — and a burger with your name on it, if your code came by email.

A New York City Marathon medal spends Monday working. The finisher offers that New York Road Runners lined up for race week run on their own calendar, and most of them are still open after the finish line comes down — starting with the museums. Runners receive free general admission to the American Museum of Natural History from November 1 to 8 by showing their medal at the ticket desks, and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum offers runners a second ticket free with a ticket purchased online from October 31 to November 7.
Monday itself is the service day. At the Marathon Pavilion in Central Park at West 67th Street, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fond Memories engraves medals and the Hospital for Special Surgery runs its Runner Recovery Zone. The NYRR Run Center offers a finish-time photo from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Fleet Feet Columbus Circle does medal engraving and medal portraits from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tracksmith's finisher posters, personalized with official times, run November 1-2 while supplies last. Peloton Studios New York, at 450 West 33rd Street, holds its Medal Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — a recovery zone with compression equipment and massage tools, bib framing, giveaways while supplies last, and lunch from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
And then there is the burger. Eligible registered runners can claim a Shake Shack burger from November 1 to 7 using the unique promotional code sent in their NYRR email — which is why the first Medal Monday task is not a line to stand in, but an inbox to check.
Read the conditions before you travel: some engraving is paid, the posters and giveaways are while-supplies-last, and every offer carries its own eligibility rules. The medal proves you ran 26.2 miles. This week, in this city, it also opens doors — just check which ones, and when, before you set out.
