No 4 Trains Late Nights All Week Between Grand Central and Utica — the 3 Train Covers Brooklyn
From Monday night through Friday, late-night 4 service is suspended in both directions between Grand Central-42nd Street and Utica Avenue-New Lots Avenue, and the 3 — which normally skips Brooklyn late at night — runs in its place.

Late-night riders on the Lexington Avenue line should plan a different train home this week. From Monday, November 2 through Friday, November 6, 4 train service is suspended in both directions late nights into the early mornings between Grand Central-42nd Street and Utica Avenue-New Lots Avenue, under the MTA's planned service changes for the work week.
Brooklyn keeps its service — on a different bullet. The 3 train, which normally does not serve Brooklyn late at night, will run from Manhattan to Brooklyn all week in the overnight hours, serving all the 4 train's stops in Brooklyn. A rider who would normally wait for a downtown 4 at a Brooklyn station should wait for the 3 instead.
Manhattan's East Side is the thinner part of the plan: riders traveling to or from the East Side late at night should use the N or R, which serve the Broadway corridor, rather than expecting a Lexington Avenue train below Grand Central.
The suspension is a late-night pattern only — daytime and evening 4 service is not part of this change — but it runs on the one week when an overnight trip is likeliest to be election-related. As always with planned work, the MTA advises checking live service before traveling, because unplanned changes layer on top of the planned ones.
